I/we don’t know where to start… This will be a loooong post on plurality outside of medical frame pushed on us by degree havers and their truthers. Sysmeds/syscourse DNI with this post.

For the ease of writing, “I/we” pronoun will be replaced with “I”, referring to Garuma/DreamLink

So as some of y’all know, I am a median polyfrag system. It may sound contradicting, but on a second note, it’s easy to understand. There are few “main” facets and thousands. thousands of fragments. The system constantly merges and splits, and plurality is never a finished process (even if you aren’t aware of it).

DreamLink is of many origins, that is dreagenic, neuro/autigenic, traumagenic, nebugenic - and one could go on and count the origins. Some facets/shards come from constant combing of my dreams, some facets/shards come from trauma I endured, some come from the lens of being autistic and some are of unknown origin.

Enough about DL, let’s talk about plurality itself!

Plurality manifests in many ways or shapes, willingly or not, and it doesn’t have to be in the frames of being a system as we know it. As long as you meet the idea of “many entities in one body” you are plural! It can range from an internal dialogue to fully-fledged entities residing in your mind.

In contrary to popular opinion, you don’t need to have a dissociation disorder to be plural. This is only one of the many ways one can be plural. You can even willingly create entities in your head (or even systems) if this is what fits you most. Remember, plurality doesn’t have to be medical at all.

Now, a bit of spirituality/meta/whatever you want to call it.

We believe everyone (yes, you too!) are made of shards. How many of them? a lot of them. Think of them as of LEGO pieces. For a singlet, they usually make a full compatible set.

For plurals, the shards come from different sets, causing what we know as several entities in one mind. There can be enough shards to form a facet or headmate, or singular shards can remain in the inner world/headspace.

For me, shards inhabit most of the DL innerworld, able to communicate with each other, but due to their weakness caused by being a shard, they cannot carry over their knowledge to facet zone (and thus, to the outside world). Shards can however sprout into more developed forms (by constantly combing dreams or other unknown reasons) and may even join the facet zone.

Every shard has a class/aspect/type (however you want to call it) - which is the core of your self. It can be a dominant personality trait or interest or whatever defines you and isn’t a physical body trait. But shards being of same type aren’t enough - there’s many variables that make shards “of one set”.

What are the types? There’s too many of them, just like shards. I personally know of several <<Digital>> shards, <<Queer>> shards, <<Rage>> shards, <<Malicious>> shards in my system. But this is only very few shard types.

You can obtain shards in many way - you need to seek out how and where to seek them out.

How does the Shard Theory work with Thoughtform systems? Thoughtformers usually craft shards on their own or comb them from memories to form headmates.

Your mind might get shards and form mates involuntarily too, without your knowledge most of the time.

Shards also can separate from your self and transform into a “different set” shards forming headmates, which is what may happen with traumagenic (and other) systems (splitting)

I hope this cleaned up the theory for you. There’s more I could say, but it’s gonna be more chaotic. Feel free to ask about it or if you need explaination.
